Bird box activity report

Brian Beckner with Native Bird Boxes came out to do a bird box inventory and any required maintenance.  What he found was a spectacular display of how our bird boxes are producing.  Enjoy this short video of an amazing discovery on the course today.

On the mend

The crew has been working diligently to get the dry spots around the course to recover quickly after this past weekend's member-guest tournament. I had instructed the crew to dry down the course so it plays fast and firm for the tournament, which they did fabulously. However, we did not anticipate the extremely hot and sunny weather that came on Saturday which tipped the scales out of our favor on late Saturday afternoon. I had staff here on Saturday and Sunday afternoon to water, but with all the golf being played now it is nearly impossible to water the course if needed in the afternoons.

Don't worry though, the Celebration will pop right back to its usual green self shortly. The course is already looking better today than it did Monday.

It's a great day at CCN

Despite some foggy beginnings it turned out to be a great day.

Thank you Trevor, Kenny and all the hard working guys in the Golf Maintenance Dept. Without them I couldn't do it.

Bird Survey....What's out there?

A couple of weeks ago CCN had our first wildlife tour and it was fantastic.  Although the group had a good time, it's hard to move that many people around the really see what the course has to offer.  Just after the first wildlife tour wrapped up I had the Ornithologist go back out on the course and do a survey of his observations.  I wanted to see what a trained eye and ear would see and hear.  Click the link below to see how active the bird population is around you that most of the time you never notice.

Wildlife tour is a hit

Today 18 people were fortunate enough to go on the first ever wildlife tour at the Country Club of Naples, and it was awesome!

Brian Beckner with Native Bird Boxes is a local ornithologist and was hired to give tour participants a peek at all the different birds and wildlife on the course.
The tour started at the cart barn with a brief introduction and then headed out to see what they could find.

I caught up with them as they were wrapping up at the Pollinator Garden.

If you would like to attend a tour, watch for the notices in the Club's weekly info emails or call Diane at the front desk to put your name on the list.
